INTERREG IV I-A 2007-2013 ADMUSEUM

Cross-border network for physical and cultural accessibility to museum and natural heritage and urban spaces.

Concerning the Interreg IV Italy Austria the project “AdMuseum- Cross-border network for physical and cultural accessibility to museum and natural heritage and urban spaces” was started.

Project partners are the Gal Alto Bellunese, the Municipality of Glorenza (BZ), the Province of Belluno, the Mountain Community of Carnia and the RegioL Association of Landeck (Austria).

The AdMuseum project aims at strengthening the cross-border network of museums and territories through the setting up of services, the creation of facilities and the acquisition of scientific and museological approaches using different languages and aimed at different types of users: tourists, class groups, the elderly, the motor, cognitive and psychic disabled, and immigrants. The aim is to raise the standards of use of museums both in terms of access to the places and in terms of intelligibility of the cultural contents of the goods to which the museums refer, inside and outside the structures.

Culture, exchange of experience, professionalism and services that address the community, with an inclusive approach, not only contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens living in project areas, but can also become a resource for economic growth.

ADMUSEUM’S SPECIFIC GOALS ARE:

  • the improvement of physical and cultural accessibility to the facilities and adjoining spaces;
  • the testing of cross-border research and scientific dissemination projects;
  • the creation of a checklist model on the accessibility of museum facilities, collections, urban and natural spaces and services, to be tested in order to plan improvement interventions in museums and territories;
  • experimentation with interactive and multimedia communication methods to support local and cross-border promotion actions;
  • capitalisation of the experience gained from the Interreg IV I-A Transmuseum project in the provision and use of museum education services.
